Marta Carazo will join Queen Letizia's team in September.

Marta Carazo will join Queen Letizia's office on September 1, according to sources at the Zarzuela Palace.
Carazo presented the second edition of La 1's 'Telediario' for the final time this Friday after informing RTVE's news management of her decision to leave the corporation to "pursue a new professional project." The public broadcaster announced this in a statement, which did not reveal the journalist's fate.
According to ABC, the Zarzuela Palace waited until Carazo gave his final newscast last night to announce his appointment as head of the Queen's Secretariat.
The decision to bring Carazo to the Zarzuela Palace comes a month after the current head of the Queen's Secretariat, María Ocaña, informed Queen Letizia of her resignation "for unforeseen reasons" stemming from her "family and personal circumstances," according to reports at the time. The news was "dismaying for everyone," as ABC learned, including Ocaña and especially the Queen, with whom she has formed a very good team since her arrival at La Zarzuela just over a year ago.
Carazo debuted as presenter of the second edition of the 'Telediario' on January 15, 2024, replacing Carlos Franganillo, for which she returned to Torrespaña after three years as TVE's correspondent in Brussels. In recent months, in addition to presenting the Telediario, she has starred in specials such as those on the death of the Pope and the conclave from Rome, and the power outage during which the news services broadcast the second-longest special in RTVE's history.
A graduate in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, she began her professional career in 1999 at Canal 24 Horas as a news anchor (1999-2007) and went on to become director and presenter of the programs "Casa de América" and "A Fondo" (2006-2009). Before the King and Queen's wedding, Carazo and the Queen worked together at TVE. In 2009, when Queen Letizia became Princess of Asturias, she joined the Telediario to cover news from the Royal Household.
