Video shows the kidnapping of Harold Aroca, a minor found dead and tortured in Bogotá.

The city of Bogotá is in shock due to the incident involving Harold Aroca , a 16-year-old boy who lived in the Los Laches neighborhood. The teenager was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered . A video capturing the moment he was forced to leave has been essential to the authorities' ongoing investigation.
Harold was last seen on August 5th , while playing soccer at a local micro-soccer field. He was wearing a red jacket and coat , soccer attire, white and blue sneakers, and black socks with yellow details. Videos captured several people forcing him to leave the area shortly before he disappeared.
Harold Aroca's mother found his body after four days of searching. The mother, deeply distressed, immediately notified the police and other organizations of the disappearance, although she maintains that she did not receive the necessary support in time . Along with her family and neighbors, she conducted a constant search for four days. Finally, on August 10 , she was the one who discovered the lifeless body in a forested area near Los Laches.
According to the preliminary report, the body showed clear signs of violence and possible evidence of torture , which had occurred shortly before the murder. In one of the pockets, investigators found a note that read : "Hahaha. That's what he gets for being a snitch," which could offer important clues about the motive for the crime and the possible perpetrators.
The Attorney General's Office took on the case and proposed several theories. One suggests that the crime could be related to revenge between gangs involved in small-scale drug trafficking , allegedly using the minor in the act. However, the young man's mother strongly rejects this version and maintains that it could all be linked to statements Harold made at school, indicating that he knew who would commit a murder.
While Harold was away, his family was contacted via text messages sent from his cell phone. This included a call from an unknown voice reporting that he had been taken away due to an incident. Triangulation of the last phone signal indicated an area controlled by armed groups, where a confrontation with law enforcement took place.
Aside from that, they received a disturbing message on social media urging them to investigate a forested area. That's where they found the young man's body. Colonel Luis Carlos Torres , commander of Citizen Security #4, stated that a specialized unit is in charge of the investigation and that camera recordings, testimonies, and forensic evidence are currently being reviewed to find those responsible.
Harold's mother fervently pleads for justice and for the crime not to go unpunished: "If they did nothing to save him alive, at least they should act now to make those who killed him pay," she declared, tears streaming down her face.
The case of Harold Aroca has generated profound unrest and rekindled the debate over security conditions in the poorest areas of Bogotá, where violence and the actions of criminal groups persist, costing the lives of young people.
