The comprehensive acceleration of shared mobility on two wheels

It all started with a burger and a parked motorcycle. "Pablo showed me a university project about renting technology products. I told him I wasn't sure what it was... but that I had just bought a Kawasaki Ninja that I barely used, and that I had tried to rent a similar motorcycle before and it was no use. We looked at each other and the spark was born," recalls David Berbel, CEO and co-founder of Momoven . This is how the platform was born, which in five years has surpassed 10,000 rentals, has more than 100,000 registered users, and is growing at a rate of 200% annually.
In 2019, Momoven was "little more than a shabby landing page with one of my bikes and two more belonging to friends," explains co-founder Pablo Carceller. Today, they have over 8,000 motorcycles , agreements with brands like Ducati, Yamaha, and BMW, and an open investment round of one million euros. The arrival of rider Álex Márquez as a strategic partner has strengthened their position: "Álex Márquez's arrival has been a huge turning point . He's not only an investor, but also an official ambassador for Momoven throughout the MotoGP season," says Berbel.
The proposal combines peer-to-peer rentals, our own fleet, and flexible leasing. "P2P provides capillarity and community. Our own fleet ensures quality and availability. Leasing gives us recurrence. The key is balance," Carceller summarizes. Some owners earn up to €10,000 a year renting their motorcycles through the platform.
The rental process is done online from start to finish. "It's all 100% digital and very simple. You go to momoven.es, choose the city, dates, and the type of motorcycle you want. You can filter by engine size, brand, or style. Once you've chosen, you make the reservation online, with full insurance included and an automatic digital contract. If it's a private motorcycle, the owner delivers it directly to you. And if it's one of our fleets in Madrid, Valencia, or Barcelona, you go to one of our autonomous centers: log in from your phone, without an app, open the locker, and pick up the key. All without lines or human interaction. Pure efficiency," says Carceller. The technological component is key. "We use artificial intelligence to verify users in real time with their ID, selfie, and biometric matching. All in seconds. We also have smart lockers connected to our platform that allow for unmanned pickup and drop-off."
Growth has largely been organic, as "our Google Ads account was hacked. We were unable to advertise for nine months. But that forced us to strengthen our SEO, product, brand... and it made us better," says Carceller. More than 35% of users are repeat customers , having rented more than ten times. The typical profile is "a man between 30 and 45 years old, passionate about motorcycles, who already has an A license and is looking for experiences. Some want to rent a different motorcycle for a getaway, others want to try before buying, and many simply want to enjoy it without complications ." Over time, the profile has expanded, and "there are more and more women, more young users, and also international tourists."
The vision is ambitious: "Europe is the next step. The world is the ultimate goal," declares the CEO.
