Robopedics launches Awake after raising €1 million

Robopedics launches Awake after raising €1 million

Robopedics, the company focused on robotic mobility solutions, has closed a €1 million funding round to launch its new robotic device, Awake, on the market.

The resources come from the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) , through the Innvierte program, the Mondragón venture capital fund and from individual contributions made through the participatory financing platform Capital Cell.

The new device developed by Robopedics aims to offer a more accessible alternative to people who have not regained mobility after a stroke. According to the company's president and founder, Iván Martínez , the product is 80% cheaper and 60% lighter than currently available devices, which average around €100,000. While existing products are aimed at hospitals and specialized centers, Robopedics is planning a solution tailored for individual use.

The new funding for the El Prat de Llobregat-based startup will cover the costs of marketing the product, following a preliminary phase focused on technological development, certification, and intellectual property protection . This round adds to a series of contributions that the CDTI (Spanish Institute of Technology) and Mondragón have made since the project's early stages.

Since its founding, Robopedics has raised a total of three million euros through three rounds of funding. The first two, totaling two million euros , were used to develop and validate the device, including its health certification and intellectual property protection. The third round, worth one million euros, is dedicated exclusively to financing its market entry.

Mondragón has participated as the lead investor in all rounds through its development fund, managed by Clave Capital . This fund invests in technology companies linked to the Basque cooperative group's strategic interests.
