TikTok will notify parents when teens post videos, stories, or photos: here's how it works

The social network TikTok, one of the five most used platforms in the world, announced this Wednesday new security tools aimed at strengthening the protection of minors. Among the new features is the activation of automatic notifications for parents whenever their children post a video, photo, or story visible to other users.
Greater control and transparency for families As the company explained in a statement, these features are designed to provide greater transparency and encourage family participation in teens' digital experiences.
In addition to receiving alerts about posts, parents can block specific accounts to prevent their children from accessing them or check if they've made any changes to their privacy settings.

TikTok stated that teen accounts have more than 50 settings designed to enable creativity and safe interaction. The goal is for users to express themselves and learn in a safe environment.
Family Sync and New Settings New features include a "family sync" option, which allows parents to customize the content recommendations their children receive, identifying the topics and creators they're most interested in. They'll also have the option to block accounts, which will then lose the ability to interact with their children.
Although teens can request the unblocking of these accounts, the final decision will always rest with their parents, the social network indicated.

It also announced the implementation of the "Wellness Missions" feature, which allows users to complete activities to earn badges , aimed at reinforcing mindful behaviors while using the platform.
Measures for content creators In parallel, the network launched new tools to support creators, such as filters to remove offensive comments, the ability to review content before posting, and an improved inbox for managing messages.

- Indicate whether it is a 'Parent' or 'Teen' cell phone and confirm by pressing 'Next'.
