Middle East: Civil Defense announces the deaths of 10 Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire and strikes

Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal reported 10 people killed Saturday, including eight by Israeli army gunfire near aid centers in the Palestinian territory. At least six bodies, including that of a child, were transferred to Al-Awda Hospital in the central Nusseirat refugee camp, along with 30 others wounded, he said.
The victims were targeted by Israeli gunfire during gatherings of civilians near the GHF (Gaza Humanitarian Foundation) aid distribution point on the main Salah al-Din road in the central Gaza Strip, the spokesperson said. Two other people, including a woman, were shot dead by Israeli forces near another aid center northwest of Rafah in southern Gaza, the same source said.
Civilians targeted in refugee campAccording to witnesses, several thousand people gathered Saturday morning around the GHF aid centers (backed by the United States and Israel) in the central Gaza Strip and in areas west of Rafah and Khan Younis in the south, hoping to obtain food.
A woman was also killed in an airstrike "that targeted an apartment opposite Al-Khair Hospital" in Khan Younis, according to the Civil Defense spokesperson. A young man was also killed by a missile fired by an Israeli drone, which targeted a group of civilians near the Abu Helou school, which houses displaced people in the Bureij refugee camp (central Gaza Strip), according to Mahmoud Bassal.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reports. Media restrictions imposed by Israel, which has been besieging Gaza since the start of the war against Hamas, and the difficulties of accessing the area prevent independent verification of information from the various parties.
