Coop follows Migros and announces a wave of price reductions

The retailer is cutting prices on 1,000 products by 2025. It is following in the footsteps of its arch-rival and has announced plans to expand its Prix Garantie range.

Many products are announced to be cheaper this year.
After Migros , it's Coop's turn to announce a major price cut. The retailer has reduced the prices of 1,000 items since the beginning of the year, an investment of more than 50 million francs. It intends to "keep its promise of offering quality products at attractive prices," according to Andrea Kramer, head of marketing and purchasing.
Coop points out that in 2024, 2,400 products had already seen their prices reduced, for a cumulative amount of 80 million francs. Since 2019, the brand has invested more than 650 million francs to adjust its prices downwards. In 2025, Coop is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of its low-priced Prix Garantie range. The retailer indicates that it continues to expand, with 30 new items added this year.
These efforts do not offset the rise in inflation, which was 1.3% in 2024. But it's something. As a reminder, since 1960, the average inflation rate has been 2.4% per year.
