Amazon announced it has invested €5 billion in France by 2024, bringing its contribution to more than €30 billion since 2010, the American e-commerce giant revealed on its website Friday.
In May , at the Choose France 2025 summit, the company unveiled an investment plan of more than €300 million across the country, with the key to creating more than 1,500 permanent jobs . This includes plans for a new distribution center in Illiers-Combray (Eure-et-Loir).
2.6 billion in taxesWhile some non-European online retailers (Temu, Shein, AliExpress, etc.) are regularly accused of not investing enough in France or creating jobs there, Amazon insisted on Friday on its tax contribution. This will amount to more than 2.6 billion euros in France in 2024, including more than 900 million euros in direct taxes (corporate tax, employer contributions, local taxes, etc.), placing the logistics company among "the top 50 tax contributors in the country."
The multinational now employs more than 25,000 people on permanent contracts at over 35 logistics sites and offices. It has generated revenue of €12 billion in France.
