In Lorient, Pau and Brest, Solidaires premises targeted by the far right

Damage, break-ins, theft: in just ten days, the offices of the Solidaires union have been targeted three times in Lorient, Pau, and Brest. The latest incident took place on the night of Thursday 24 to Friday 25 in the Morbihan sub-prefecture, when the offices of the Solidaires 56 union were covered in graffiti. "While the slogans are sometimes difficult to read, what appears (Celtic crosses, references to Pétain, racist remarks) leaves no doubt as to the origin of this damage," the union responded in a press release.
In Lorient, insults were notably spray-painted on the facade of the premises. But also the words "rafle" and "Pétain," while far-right activists nostalgic for Vichy went to the island of Yeu, further south, off the coast of Vendée, on July 23, the date marking both the death of the collaborationist soldier and the start of his trial before the High Court of Justice. "This is not the first time that the Union Syndicale Solidaires du Morbihan has been the victim of attacks or threats," denounces the union, which filed a complaint.
