Three people died at sea in Lazio . Two men drowned in Anzio , on the coast south of Rome, and another in Tarquinia, in the Viterbo area. The Coast Guard was on the scene. According to reports, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.

Two brothers, aged 55 and 58, lost their lives in Anzio . According to reconstructions, one of the brothers was in difficulty due to rough seas and strong currents; the other went to his aid. The third victim, in the Viterbo area, is a 47-year-old man who jumped into the water to help his wife and children in difficulty offshore. He was brought back to shore by lifeguards.

In Anzio, the alarm was raised shortly after 5:00 PM. The younger of the two brothers had dived into the water for a swim, but was caught in the current and swept out to sea . The younger brother didn't hesitate to dive in to help him. However, in an attempt to reach him, he also ran into difficulty, likely due to a sudden hole in the seabed. The two died shortly after being brought to shore; attempts to revive them were unsuccessful. Two of the lifeguards who came to their aid were taken ill and transported to the hospital by 118 with yellow code status. A third lifeguard refused to be taken to the hospital.

The 47-year-old man who died in Tarquinia was originally from Fonte Nuova, in the province of Rome. He was on the beach with his family and saw his wife and children in difficulty while swimming offshore. He dived in to save them , but while trying to reach them, perhaps due to illness, he disappeared under the water and never resurfaced. Lifeguards present, seeing the scene, dived in and managed to save the woman and her children, but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for the man. Emergency medical services and personnel from the Civitavecchia coast guard were on the scene, tasked with clarifying the circumstances of the incident. The body has been released to the judicial authorities.
