Casalzuigno - Music, art, and nature: the Terio Quintet in concert at Villa Della Porta Bozzolo - - Varese News

On August 24th, the event promoted by the Mountain Communities of the Verbano and Piambello Valleys offers a concert and a conference inside the historic villa of Casalzuigno.

On Sunday, August 24th, the "Interpretando Suoni e Luoghi" festival will stop in Casalzuigno with a concert by the Quintetto Terio in the splendid Villa Della Porta Bozzolo. The free event combines classical music, history, and the promotion of the local area.

The concert and the conference

At 6:00 pm, the audience will be able to listen to the Terio Quintet—composed of Elisa Ghezzo (flute), Antonio Palumbo (oboe), Filippo Bassi (clarinet), Ruggero Pari (horn), and Massimo Mitrio (bassoon)—on a musical journey through pieces by Handel, Haydn, Hess, and Farkas. A repertoire spanning the Baroque and 20th century, perfectly in tune with the Villa's atmosphere.

Before the performance, at 5:15 pm, a lecture will be held by Francesca Sironi, FAI representative for cultural activities. The title of the talk—"From a 16th-century country residence to a delightful villa in the 18th century. Uses and identities of water yesterday and today"—will introduce the villa's historical context and the symbolic and practical role of water over the centuries.

Villa Della Porta Bozzolo, a treasure trove of history and landscape

The villa, now a property of the FAI (Italian National Trust), is one of the most evocative examples of a Lombard country residence. Built in the 16th century as a country house and transformed into a refined noble residence in the 18th century, it preserves elegant frescoes and a monumental Italian garden, enhanced by a scenic avenue that climbs the hill.

Protagonists of the territory

The Terio Quintet is made up of musicians from the province of Varese, united by years of friendship and passion. The members have experience with major national orchestras such as the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Toscanini Orchestra, the RAI Milan, the Verdi Symphony Orchestra, and the Teatro alla Scala. Today, they combine their concert activity with teaching and conducting local bands and choirs.

Culture and territory

The "Interpretando Suoni e Luoghi" festival, promoted by the Comunità Montana Valli del Verbano with the support of the Comunità Montana del Piambello, continues to combine music, historic sites, and the landscapes of the Varese valleys. The initiative also enjoys the support of the Municipality of Casalzuigno and the FAI (Italian National Trust), which have collaborated for years to promote the area's culture.
