Grok 4: Downloads and Profits on the Rise for xAI

Elon Musk received some great news from Appfigures. Downloads of the Grok iOS app increased after the launch of the new model. The chatbot's increased popularity was undoubtedly also thanks to the introduction of unfiltered virtual companions . Subscription revenues also increased significantly.
Downloads and earnings are growingCharts published by Appfigures show a steady number of iOS downloads from July 1 to 8. Since July 9, when xAI announced Grok 4 , daily downloads of the app have skyrocketed. On July 11, they peaked at around 197,000 downloads worldwide, a 279% increase from the day before the new model's launch.
The arrival of Grok 4 also contributed to the increase in revenue for Elon Musk's company, as it is only accessible through the SuperGrok subscription ($30/month). On July 11, approximately $419,000 came in from users, a 329% increase compared to the day before the new model's launch. Subsequently, the amounts decreased, but still remained above $200,000/day.
Oddly enough, on July 14th, when the AI companions were introduced, both downloads and revenue decreased compared to the previous days. Data published by Appfigures demonstrates Grok's growing popularity, despite its Nazi-like responses . Perhaps it's appreciated precisely for the lack of overly restrictive filters, like those adopted by competitors.
Revenue from the new SuperGrok Heavy subscription ($300/month), which provides access to the Grok 4 Heavy model and previews of new features, is not yet available. Data is for the iOS app only. Data for the Android app is not yet available.
Almost simultaneously, some data about ChatGPT , the current market leader, was released.
