Ischia, the barbecue bomb: explosion at a house on Corso Vittoria Colonna

There were moments of terror in the center of Ischia following an explosion that shook and severely damaged a home on Corso Vittoria Colonna. Firefighter investigations revealed that the blast was triggered by the use of a gas barbecue.

At the time, only two women were present, and upon seeing the flames, they immediately left the apartment to seek safety. None of them were injured, but the shock was considerable: the roar was heard from a distance and attracted dozens of onlookers to the main street of the town of Ischia.

The firefighters responded quickly, extinguishing the fire and securing the building, while the Carabinieri began investigations to precisely reconstruct the dynamics of what happened.
