The 2400-meter Mazzofondo Sprint – renamed the Vittorio Zenith Trophy – confirms itself as the most technical test of the event, starting and finishing in Arona after reaching the Lombardy shore of Angera.

LEGAMBIENTE'S ECOACTION CERTIFICATE
The 2025 edition also confirms its focus on sustainability , thanks to Legambiente's EcoActions certification, which assesses the event's environmental impact and promotes best practices in waste management, emissions reduction, and sustainable mobility. A route that, beyond swimming, invites reflection on the relationship with the land and respect for its resources.
The event, founded in 1994 , retains the allure of a finish line that's more than just a sporting achievement. Long strokes in the lake's waters are accompanied by views of the two fortresses, Arona (now a park containing the ruins of the ancient fortress) and Angera, in a scenic setting that makes each edition different and special. Thousands of colorful swim caps and buoys mark the lake's surface each year, amid the cheering of the spectators and the warmth of a piazza that welcomes each finish as if it were a small feat.
