Swimmers in Licola were unpleasantly surprised to find themselves with brown seawater. No one dared to jump in, and after activist Umberto Mercurio posted a complaint on Facebook , an investigation into the spills into the sea began. This would be the second incident in three days. "In Licola, in these hours, we are seeing incidents of marine pollution that could be linked to discharges from various canals or sewage treatment plants," Mayor Gigi Manzoni announced. "I immediately ordered thorough checks on our territory, which confirmed that the canal in our municipality is completely dry: at the moment, there are no signs of polluting discharges attributable to us.
