An ultralight aircraft crashed in Azzano Mella, in the province of Brescia, killing two people on board.

The small plane crashed near the Corda Molle, the motorway junction that connects the A4 to the A21 towards Milan.

The pilot and co-pilot have not yet been identified.

The passengers were burned to death in the fire. Investigations are underway to determine where the small plane took off from.

The debris of the ultralight damaged several vehicles, and two motorists reported minor injuries. The road towards Concesio is closed.

On site were several emergency vehicles, firefighters, carabinieri and traffic police.
