Varese - Varese's cycling routes return to the Italian Bike Festival in Misano - Varese Laghi - Varese News

For the fourth consecutive year, the #VareseDoyouBike project brings the province's offerings to the forefront of the Italian Bike Festival in Misano Adriatico , Europe's largest event dedicated to the world of two wheels. From September 5th to 7th, the stand, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Varese Welcome Foundation, will showcase the area's cycling tourism potential, featuring nature, signposted itineraries, and increasingly specialized operators.
"We can honestly say that with #VareseDoyouBike we've set a precedent ," says Mauro Vitiello, president of the Varese Chamber of Commerce. "Other chambers of commerce are following our example. Our region has everything it takes: an ideal environment, tradition, and above all, dedicated infrastructure, from mapped itineraries to e-bike charging stations."
Today, the project's "official points" are growing: accommodation facilities and tour operators have invested in offering tailored services to cyclists. In total, the kilometers of mapped routes exceed 2,000 , with itineraries of all difficulty levels, designed for families, athletes, and enthusiasts.
In addition to its presence in Misano, #VareseDoyouBike is also the focus of a nationwide promotional campaign . These days, as part of a Lombardy Region project, Vittorio Brumotti —a familiar face on "Striscia la Notizia" and a keen cycling enthusiast— is cycling through the Varese area, sharing its natural and cultural beauties. The Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, the Rocca di Angera , Guree beach in Monvalle, Panperduto , and the Tornavento area are just some of the stops on his tour, documented with videos and content designed for digital channels.
The official project brochure has also been updated for the Festival. Among the strengths of the Varese system is the route signage , now compliant with the international standards of the IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association), also adopted by leading regions like Trentino and numerous European and American countries. This is another step towards making the cycling experience not only enjoyable but also safe, accessible, and recognizable.
Finally, on Sunday, September 28th, during Agrivarese 2025—which this year will be held in Busto Arsizio —the "Gravel&Randonée" event will return, combining sport and exploration of the local agricultural landscape. It's an opportunity to once again combine cycling with the promotion of the province's outstanding products.
