Come live in Varese and we'll pay you: how to get the three vouchers of two thousand euros. And where to spend them

Varese, June 3, 2025 – Getting paid to transfer your residence. It happens in Varese, with a call for tenders developed by the local Chamber of Commerce, which will make available vouchers with a net value of two thousand euros per year, for a total of three years.

Those under 40 who choose to move to the province of lakes (some say seven, some say ten) will be able to benefit from it, in exchange for a new work contract with a local company.

The intention is to increase the competitiveness of the territory : to make the province of Varese increasingly attractive for young people, workers and families. "We are struggling, like many other geographical areas - explains the president of the Chamber of Commerce Mauro Vitiello - with phenomena that risk becoming increasingly worrying. With this measure, we want to combat depopulation , reduce the mismatch between supply and demand for work and contain the phenomenon of the flight of talent that affects us like the rest of Italy".

Furthermore, Vitiello continues, "our province, which remains one of those with the highest entrepreneurial density and best export capacity , must also deal with its proximity to Milan and the Swiss border : certainly, a factor that brings wealth but at the same time influences the job market. This is why, as part of the Vieni a Vivere a Varese project, in collaboration with local authorities and economic entities in the area, we wanted to bring this call to life".

This measure is part of a package of tools that the Varese Chamber of Commerce is developing to increase the territorial attractiveness with particular attention to young people, students, families and workers so that here they can find the best conditions to realize their life project.

The initiative is inspired by the awareness of how the residential choice is closely linked to job opportunities and quality of life: the vouchers made available will thus be spendable on commercial goods and services and local artisanal activities. Another way to create a virtuous circle also in favor of Varese businesses.

"We are well aware - continues Vitiello - that this measure, alone, is not able to solve the problems. However, we are convinced that it can give life to a virtuous circle that mobilizes the territory to give its best and to create the conditions to continue to grow on a socioeconomic level in a territory that looks to the future. Municipalities could also come into play by making a contribution in improving, for example, the reception capacity, implementing services to support those who already work in the territory".

Why not also provide a contribution to the rent ? "We are the Chamber of Commerce - these are always the words of the president - an institution that represents and supports the economic fabric. With this initiative, we want to support on the one hand those who need to hire and on the other commercial and artisan businesses".
