How much does a sunbed cost in Rimini? “In three seasons, increases of up to 8%”

Rimini, June 7, 2025 – Over the past three years , beach prices in Rimini have increased by 8% . And if you look at extras, from lunch at the restaurant to ice cream, it's even worse. The provincial Federconsumatori takes care of the calculations in the lifeguards' pockets, lining up numbers and statistical data. We had written about the increases relating to the services provided by the beach establishments a few days ago, with the Rimini Sud lifeguards' cooperative defending " the cheapest rates among the beach destinations, a strong point of our offer", the president of the Rimini Sud lifeguards' cooperative Mauro Vanni had underlined.
Now Federconsumatori, with its president Graziano Urbinati, shows the data collected. Let's start with the daily cost of a sunbed . Finding it for 7 euros is now the norm, but according to the consumer association, 7 euros is the minimum, but there are several establishments where you spend at least 9 euros a day. The same fate for beach umbrellas , even if here we are witnessing a war of figures with the president of the lifeguards' cooperative. "A beach umbrella with 2 sunbeds goes from 25 euros to 30 euros a day ", says Federconsumatori. While for Vanni there are still areas where it is possible to find it for around 20 euros.
Don't forget that the rates not only vary from establishment to establishment, but also depending on the period chosen for the holiday. And here we are with the Rimini residents looking for an umbrella for the whole summer. " The season pass varies from 500 to 1,200 euros, depending on the position of the umbrella. And above all the cost of the daily pass increases (+3%)", explains the association. Here too, the numbers are different from the coop which indicated a lower minimum price. For the season pass, there are those who have had to pay even more than 1,200 euros in some bathing establishments in Marina Centro.
Overall, according to Federconsumatori, this year the increase on the beach is around 2.3% . In itself, the percentage does not represent a blow, but the association has estimated that in just three seasons the prices of beach services have increased by an average of 8%.
“Increase this year also the cost for the rental of pedal boats, SUPs, canoes , increasingly popular among bathers (+2%), after the record increase of 10% recorded last year. The cost of the season pass, on the other hand, remains stable, declining among users' preferences". Not everyone is able to keep up with the increases. Even the lifeguards know this and are proposing new formulas to experience the beach at all prices.
“The narrowness of family budgets – Federconsumatori continues – this year too pushes citizens to look for solutions to save , such as shorter use of the beach service. There are beach resorts that offer happy hour or half-day formulas (paying up to half the costs applied for the whole day). More and more on the Riviera, beach services are full during the weekends and the costs also fluctuate accordingly. Naturally, extras such as meals on the beach, drinks and ice cream have undergone more considerable increases and above all the quantities have been reduced”. “The Riviera, this is true – concludes Federconsumatori – still remains among the most convenient in the national panorama , but unfortunately for several years it has been a little less popular”.
