Rocco Casalino is leaving the M5S communications department: what will his future be?

Rocco Casalino has always been associated with the Five Star Movement (M5S ), where he was one of its most well-known and influential figures. After fifteen years of political and communications commitment, he has decided to step down as head of the party's communications. His departure marks the conclusion of a long period within the Movement, but also opens the door to new professional projects.

Rocco Casalino has officially left the Five Star Movement , ending a fifteen-year relationship that saw him a protagonist since the party's inception. A well-known face to television audiences for his participation in the first Italian edition of Big Brother , Casalino joined the Movement in 2009 as a journalist for TeleNorba and began his active involvement in 2011 , under the leadership of Beppe Grillo .

“ After twelve years of intense and passionate work, I feel the need to take on new challenges and achieve new personal and professional goals ,” he declared to Corriere della Sera.

His political career has led him to positions of increasing responsibility: deputy communications officer for parliamentarians in the Senate, later extending his responsibilities to the European Parliament, and finally becoming national communications coordinator. He was subsequently appointed spokesperson for the Conte I and II governments, confirming his influence both in the media and in institutions. Casalino leaves without tension, and his relationship with the Movement, he assures, remains strong .

“The relationship remains solid, both human and professional, based on mutual respect and trust.”

Casalino is now preparing to embark on a new phase of his career, exploring more independent and creative horizons .

“I look with respect and closeness to the path of the Movement, but I feel the need for a more autonomous path, for a different creative freedom , ” he concluded.

The former spokesperson is reportedly aiming for journalism , with possible television experience and the direction of a publishing project still being finalized, as reported by Repubblica . Nothing has been confirmed, however; we can only wait.
