Crowdfunding has begun for Ada Lovelace Day, a day dedicated to STEM disciplines for women.

The crowdfunding campaign launched by the Piedmontese Museum of Computer Science (MuPIn) with the support of the Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT (Development and Growth Foundation CRT) is now online to support and expand Ada Lovelace Day. The initiative, which has been promoting the role of women in science and technology for over a decade, takes its name from a visionary figure who understood the potential of computers long before they were even invented, making a significant contribution to the development of computing as early as the mid-19th century.
Launched on the Eppela platform, the campaign allows anyone to make a concrete contribution to a cultural and educational project that aims to transform the narrative of STEM in a fair, inclusive, and accessible way. If the €5,000 public donation goal is reached, the Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT will contribute an additional €5,000, significantly amplifying the initiative's impact. The Foundation's support is activated only once the minimum threshold is reached: each donation brings MUPIN not only closer to its goal, but also closer to the concrete possibility of expanding the accessibility of scientific and technological knowledge, offering real opportunities to those who need it most.
Ada Lovelace Day, launched in Italy since 2012 thanks to the efforts of MuPIn, is much more than a celebration: it is a tool to inspire, engage, and transform. With this crowdfunding campaign, the museum aims to strengthen this role, making the initiative even more widespread and accessible.
The new Ada Day website has been online for a few days now.
The funds raised will enable the organization to offer free coding, logic, and robotics workshops in low-access schools, launch mentorship programs to support girls in their first steps into the STEM world, produce podcasts, videos, and educational materials accessible nationwide, and organize traveling exhibitions to highlight female figures in science and technology.
Supporting this campaign means choosing to invest in a more equitable future, where girls and young women can identify with the languages of science, technology, and innovation. It also means contributing to the creation of more inclusive educational environments and bringing new opportunities to often overlooked areas. Participation in the campaign comes with symbolic and material rewards, including free admission to the museum, exclusive digital content, the official t-shirt, a certificate of participation, and recognition as a patron of knowledge.
The campaign is active until August 8, 2025.
