Like in the Wild West: a fence with a bounty on Maduro's head is erected.

South American Kansas.- They put up a billboard with the reward the DEA is offering for Nicolás Maduro (and for good measure for his Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello), and now this is looking like the Wild West.

The banner appeared on the Simón Bolívar International Highway, which connects Colombia with Venezuela, near Cúcuta. It featured the Venezuelan president's face, along with the substantial reward offered by the United States government.

The offer was announced on August 7 by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, which has generated a lot of talk, as it was accompanied by a military deployment by the U.S. Navy in the Caribbean Sea (very close to Venezuela, coincidentally).

Maduro's reward seems irresistible

As soon as the sign appeared, the incident went viral, prompting the Villa del Rosario government to assert that " the billboard was installed without any authorization or compliance with the requirements established by the municipal administration."

The barrier was put up, essentially, to scare and/or mock Maduro, who appears to be "on the ropes" thanks to the US military deployment.

"We contacted the person responsible for the process, the Undersecretary of Urban Control, who confirmed that no permit existed and requested the removal of the advertising," stated José Guillermo Ruiz, Undersecretary of Urban Control, after reviewing the legality of all the signs in the municipality.
