Plan of journalists

There was a time when parliamentary reporters could do their work without imposters and when members of parliament used irony instead of sarcasm. The article by one of those pioneers is famous, when José María Gil-Robles gave a speech in 1934 and from the top of the chamber a voice shouted: "Your Honor is one of those who still wear silk underwear." Gil-Robles looked at the member who had interrupted him and retorted, before continuing his speech: "I didn't know Your Honor's wife was so indiscreet."
Sumar spokesperson Verónica Martínez takes her turn to speak before the full Congress.
JJ Guillén / EfeThe pioneer of chroniclers was Francisco Sánchez Barbero, who wrote in 1810 for the newspaper El Conciso , a short-lived, short-page diary, as its masthead suggested, which paved the way for journalism to explain what was being debated in the Cortes. At that time, journalists in the Chamber could be counted on the fingers of one hand, but today they are legion. Two centuries ago, there were only a handful of newspapers, and today, there are more than three thousand online journals alone. Some are highly prestigious, while others are mere pamphlets, more in the service of disorder than in defense of democracy.
Ultra-right agitators march through Congress with press credentialsIt's understandable, then, that a new regulation of the Congressional Rules is needed, especially since far-right agitators have finally infiltrated the Congress, hindering the work of journalism and, ultimately, democracy itself. The latest clash occurred on Tuesday, during the press conference of Sumar spokesperson Verónica Martínez, when one of these fools interrupted the session, shouting and displaying an aggressive attitude. This ended with complaints and a subsequent protest from the rest of the reporters, who pressured the parliamentary groups to reform the accreditation rules and prevent the entry of these provocateurs.

It's surprising that the PP and Vox don't want to change the House rules to prevent these troublemakers from parading around with journalists' credentials. The rest of the groups in Congress consider their presence intolerable. The right in this country has a concept of freedom of expression that baffles sensible people. Not necessarily progressive ones.
