These are the only EPS that are authorized to operate in Colombia.

The healthcare landscape in Colombia has been quite turbulent in recent years , especially regarding the issue of payments to Health Service Providers (EPS) on behalf of the State. Maximum budgets, capitation payment units (UPC), and others are terms that users have become familiar with after learning about the serious situation they are facing.

This has directly impacted people's health and well-being, not only because, for example , wait times for patients to be seen have increased, but also because dozens of medications are not being delivered, and in many cases, people must return repeatedly to obtain the prescribed medicines as needed. On the other hand, after the serious financial crisis facing the health sector, it reached the point where some EPSs had to be intervened by the National Government , that is, they began to be managed by the State.

However, the situation has not been handled in the same way in all cases. For example, a decision by the Plenary Chamber of the Constitutional Court was recently made public, ordering the revocation of the intervention that the National Health Superintendency had carried out against EPS Sanitas and forcing the Government to return it to its shareholders and restore its governing and administrative bodies.
