New train connections. Direct to Leipzig and Munich

As of December this year – as announced by PKP Intercity – new international connections will start from Przemyśl. Trains will run to the German city of Leipzig, called the “second Berlin”, as well as to the capital of Bavaria – Munich. The number of connections to the capital of Germany – Berlin will also increase.

A meeting of the Sejm Infrastructure Committee took place a dozen or so days ago, after which the Polish carrier confirmed these plans and revealed more details. Namely, from December this year, two connections will be launched to Leipzig - a city where Polish passenger trains currently do not reach. One of them will start in Kraków, and on the way the train will visit, among others, Wrocław. The second connection will have a longer route, because its beginning is planned in Przemyśl. The train will also travel through Rzeszów and Tarnów. Connections to Leipzig will take place via the border crossing in Horka, which is currently not serviced in passenger traffic. Both trains will stop, among others, in Opole and Wrocław. This will be an important connection for cities in southern Poland, enabling convenient transfers in Leipzig, towards Munich, Frankfurt or Stuttgart...
