There were profits, but only on screen. He lost his savings.

It was supposed to be a path to financial independence. Online advertising promised quick earnings, easy investing, and professional support. A 63-year-old resident of our district, enticed by the prospect of profit, decided to give it a try. Today, he knows that instead of profit, he was left with immense regret and... empty pockets.

In April, a man came across a seemingly professional online ad encouraging him to invest in the stock market. He clicked on it. The website looked credible. Downloading two apps and setting up an investment account took only a moment. He then deposited his first 40,000 złoty. When everything seemed to be going according to plan, he decided to make another deposit – this time 25,000 złoty, which he transferred to a Wrocław currency exchange office.

Throughout this time, he remained in contact with an "investment advisor," who not only provided guidance but also assured him that his investments were yielding excellent results. The app did indeed show dynamic capital growth. The illusion of success lasted until he decided to withdraw his funds two weeks ago.

That's when everything started to fall apart. First, there were difficulties processing the withdrawal. Then, contact with the advisor suddenly stopped. When attempts to recover the money proved futile, the 63-year-old realized he had been brutally defrauded.

On July 30th, he reported the incident to the Trzebnica police station and told them about the entire operation. Officers have initiated a fraud investigation. This is another case demonstrating how easy it is to fall victim to online criminals who exploit naivety and the belief in quick profits.
