British Typhoon fighter jets conducted their first patrol over Poland overnight from Friday to Saturday, Reuters reported. The British mission is to strengthen the defense of the Alliance's eastern flank.

The UK Ministry of Defence reported on the actions of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Two Typhoon fighter jets took off on Friday evening from a military base in eastern England to patrol Polish airspace , deter and defend against air threats from Russia.

"After completing the task on Saturday morning, the RAF aircraft safely returned to the UK, " it added.

Defence Minister John Healey commented on the British fighter jets' first mission. He emphasized that the Royal Air Force's actions send a "clear signal that NATO airspace will be defended ."

The government in London declared cooperation with Poland on September 15, immediately after the violation of our country's territory by Russian drones .

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced last Friday that the alliance is launching the Eastern Guard mission to reinforce its eastern flank. The mission involves, among others, Danish F-16s, French Rafales, and German Eurofighters.
