GIS warns: Harmful pesticide detected in Loyd black tea

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate announced the withdrawal of two batches of black leaf tea from the Loyd brand. The samples were found to exceed the permissible standards of anthraquinone - a pesticide that can be dangerous to health. The manufacturer immediately began the process of withdrawing the product from stores.

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has issued a statement regarding the threat associated with black leaf tea of ​​the Loyd – Yunnan brand. Two batches of this product were found to contain excessive amounts of anthraquinone , a substance classified as a pesticide. As stated in the statement, this may pose a risk to consumer health .

The warning applies to two batches of tea:

  • L24022513 C , with an expiration date of February 2027.

  • L28122413 C , with an expiration date of December 2026.

The tea producer is Mokate SA , with headquarters at ul. Katowicka 265a in Ustroń.

The National Institute of Public Health PZH – National Research Institute has determined that the consumption of this tea may be dangerous. In the opinion of specialists, the product " may pose a threat to the health of consumers " - the GIS statement noted.

The Mokate company, responsible for the production of tea, has already informed its customers about the need to withdraw the disputed batches from sale. It is also cooperating with the State Sanitary Inspection authorities, which are conducting an explanatory procedure in this case and are supervising the entire process of withdrawing the goods .
