Algarve Jazz Orchestra presents 12 concerts in August

After a Beliche Jazz '25 sold out in all four of its concerts, of which the highlight was «Soul & Swing» which debuted Chuck Wansley with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra , in Sagres, the month of August brings 12 suggestions that pass through Tavira, Portimão, Lagos, Lagoa, Monchique and Loulé.

The highlight is the "Swing & Soul" Tour with American singer Chuck Wansley, presenting a repertoire where you can hear songs such as "Fly Me To The Moon", "Sway" or "Overjoyed".

The New York singer has an extensive resume, which has taken him to the biggest stages in North America, including on the West Coast (Los Angeles or Las Vegas), but also all over the world.

High-caliber orchestras challenge the Orchestra, producing a unique result. Carvoeiro, Tavira, Monchique, and Loulé are the four locations hosting this concert, all with free admission.

But there's more jazz in the Algarve this August. Individual projects by musicians from the Algarve Jazz Orchestra also feature on the program: Ricardo Pires (alto saxophone), Alexandre Castaldo (tenor saxophone), Ricardo Jesus (alto saxophone), and singers Cherry and Sara Badalo are the leaders and mentors of their groups, presenting their personal visions of jazz and its fusions in high-quality projects.

The Algarve Jazz Orchestra, which has already completed 20 years of existence, is one of the most important Jazz Orchestras in Portugal, not only for the programs and artists it invites, but also for the numerous concerts, masterclasses , workshops , exhibitions, and other activities it promotes, always in collaboration with the region's local authorities, as well as the General Directorate of Arts and some private entities.

The Algarve Jazz Orchestra currently has seven recordings released, available primarily on digital music platforms, which promote the recording of original songs and orchestrations.

These recordings always feature internationally renowned guests, such as Silje Nergaard, Jane Monheit, Rick Margitza, Vânia Fernandes, Maria Anadon, Sara Miguel, Clara Buser, Silvia Donati, and Ana Rita Inácio.

The Algarve All Jazz Festival is also one of its productions that intersects and makes these recordings possible.

"An orchestra that transcends jazz, navigates its fusions, reaching over 35,000 audiences annually at its concerts. A remarkable activity, with a professional structure, outside the country's major urban centers, a great example of cultural decentralization," the collective notes.
