Almost the entire continent is under a yellow warning due to the heat

Mainland Portugal is again under a yellow warning today due to persistent high temperatures, with the only exception being the district of Faro, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
In the districts of Lisbon, Leiria and Aveiro the warning begins at 9:00 am today, while in the other districts, it is already in effect.
All warnings will be in effect until at least 6:00 PM on Thursday.
In Madeira, the South Coast and mountainous regions are also under a yellow warning until 6:00 pm today due to the heat.
The yellow warning, the least serious, is issued when there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
For today, the IPMA forecasts warm weather with generally clear skies, sometimes strong winds on the coastal strip north of Cabo Raso and in the highlands.
Setúbal is expected to be the hottest city on the continent, with a forecast maximum temperature of 40 degrees, followed by Lisbon and Santarém with 39 degrees.
