Coimbra: Artes à Solta wants to be more transversal

Dialogue with the world and the connection between the tangible and intangible heritage of Coimbra, Portugal and the world is the central theme of the 1st edition of Artes à Solta - Heritage Festival, which takes place between the 22nd and 24th of August.
The Coimbra Major Seminary will be the “epicenter” of the event, which includes concerts, lecture series and guided tours, in a 1st edition that highlights Cape Verde and two musical genres that are UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity: Fado and Cante Alentejano.
In its debut year, the organization (under the responsibility of GoldenSkill) invited, among others, national and international names, such as António Pinto Basto, Batucadeiras das Olaias, Zenaida Chantre, Moços da Viola Campaniça, Ourique Choral Group, Armando Tito, Bordão Cabo-verdiano and Pardalitos do Mondego.
"What the eyes see, the heart feels" is the motto of the event, which aims to "be a bridge of union between cultures, with seven unique styles of music in three days," explained organizer Diogo Coelho yesterday, during the presentation of the program.
