Dry weather: much of Brazil may have air humidity below 20%

Dry weather: much of Brazil may have air humidity below 20%

Areas of the Central-West, the interior of São Paulo and Minas Gerais may reach humidity levels below 20% throughout this week, causing temperatures to rise in the regions.

The cold weather is expected to continue in the rest of Brazil, according to Nottus.

This phenomenon occurs due to a large high pressure system that predominates over the country and prevents the formation of heavy clouds, which makes it difficult for cold air masses to move.

The coast of Rio Grande do Sul faces a cold front this Tuesday (8). Clouds increase throughout the day and it may also drizzle in the capital. Temperatures in the South remain low in the coming days.

Areas of instability remain active between Sergipe; Rio Grande do Norte; the coast of Maranhão and in the northwest of Amazonas, due to the risk of heavy rain. In the Southeast, the cold continues between the night, dawn and early morning.

Until the end of this first fortnight, the weather does not show any major changes. Throughout the second fortnight of the month, rain increases again in the south of the country.

On Tuesday (8), humidity will be between 20 and 30% in the yellow area and between 12 and 20% in the orange area. See below:

Throughout the week, relative humidity drops further and the area under alert expands over the south of Tocantins; west of Bahia; the Center-West and part of São Paulo and Minas Gerais.
