Man arrested after throwing mother down stairs and burning her with boiling water

A 22-year-old man was arrested this Saturday (3) after attacking his own mother, in Betim, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.
He is suspected of pushing the victim down the stairs and burning her with boiling water .
According to the Military Police (PM) incident report, the attacks began on Friday night (2) .
The 38-year-old woman said she was treated at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in the Teresópolis neighborhood, with burns caused by hot water thrown by her son.
The reason was reportedly an argument after he stole five packets of beans from the house and sold them to consume crack rocks .
The police were only called the following day, when the suspect returned to the residence, in the Campo Elíseos neighborhood, and attacked his mother again.
According to the victim's account, she was leaving the house when the young man came in. The woman said she asked him not to steal anything else, at which point he became angry, punched her in the nose, and pushed her down the stairs .
The man told the police that he entered the house only to get a squeegee and two kittens, but was threatened by the mother and, as a result, attacked her.
According to the PM, he confessed to having been a crack user for ten years .
The woman suffered injuries to the right side of her back as a result of the fall. The suspect was arrested.
