Tavira Municipal Museum prepares cultural program for summer holidays

With children and families in mind, the Tavira Municipal Museum has prepared a series of activities for the summer holiday period, celebrating the themes of the exhibitions on display and Tavira's tangible and intangible heritage.

The program includes guided visits to exhibitions, educational workshops and artistic and heritage education activities, aiming to guarantee an educational and fun experience for everyone.

The activities, which will begin on July 14, are aimed at families with children aged six to 12 (minimum of six participants and maximum of 10).

Summer Holidays Program Municipal Museum of Tavira:

July 14th, Monday, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Visit | Workshop «A Super Hero from the Past!» Do you want to go on an adventure through time and discover the superheroes of the past? In this workshop, we will learn how people used to tell stories of heroes with incredible powers through paintings that looked like comic books.

Join us to be a real “Mangino” for a day: you will draw, color and create your own comic strip while meeting the heroes of the past.

July 15th, Tuesday, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Visit | Workshop «My pitcher is more beautiful than yours!»

What piece is this? What decoration does it have? Look and discover the decorations present in the pieces on display at the Islamic Museum Center. In the end, you will create a piece of work that you will take home as a souvenir.

July 16th, Wednesday, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Peddy Paper «Historic Gardens of Tavira»

The ancient historic gardens of Tavira hold treasures. Come and discover and get to know these green spaces full of stories!

July 17, Thursday, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Visit | Workshop “Rethinking Art” The art of recent decades challenges us to question what “art” really is. What we once considered art may not be today, and what is art today may not be tomorrow.

In this workshop, we will reflect together on these complex issues and share our own conclusions.

July 18th, Friday, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Visit | Workshop «(Re)Creating Summer Rain» From room to room, you will walk, observe and, in the end, you will create!

Visit to the exhibition “Summer Rain – Works from the State Contemporary Art Collection” with the creation of your own work of art.
