The 32nd edition of the Volta ao Algarve à Vela brought together 27 national and Spanish vessels

The Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro has concluded the 32nd edition of the Volta ao Algarve à Vela, which took place between July 31st and August 3rd.
This sporting event brought together, in this edition, a total of 27 vessels, coming from different parts of Portugal and Spain, and had the support of AOC – Carrasquinho SA – Materiais de Construção.
This is a recurring competition, which this year had four days of competition, with daily regattas that started in Lagos and finished in Tavira, passing through Portimão, Albufeira and Faro, where the support of each of the municipalities and marinas in the respective locations was essential for the entire event to take place.
There were many moments shared between crews and the social gatherings at the end of each stage of the 32nd Algarve Sailing Tour, "but these moments were only made possible with the support of all the brands and organizations that decided to join us, and without which it would not have been possible to do so much in such a short time", points out the Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro
"The club organizes this event every year as a way to promote and strengthen the presence of Cruising Sailing at a national level, and the truth is that, in addition to having managed to reach new sailors this year, many of them decided to participate after completing the Adult Sailing Course at Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro, which demonstrates not only the active role of the club in the sport in the region, but also the interest of the participants enrolled in the respective courses," he adds.
João Marques, president of the Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro, says that "we've never seen so many sailors interested in participating in the Volta ao Algarve à Vela as this year, which fills us with pride and motivates us to do more and better with each edition." He recalls that "the 32 years of the Volta ao Algarve are only possible with the help of all the sponsors we've been to, as well as their marinas and sailing clubs. A special word to all of them, and especially to those who came to participate" in this edition.
The prizes awarded to the winners of each stage, as well as to the winners of the overall classifications, were made possible thanks to the support of entities such as Adega de Favaios, Faromotor, Cepsa, Eva Senses de Faro and NH Marina de Portimão Resort.
This edition also included several special moments, such as breakfasts shared among everyone, socializing at the end of the day, and the festival that took place in Faro on August 2nd, which featured traditional Portuguese food and live music.
The organization of this 32nd Algarve Sailing Tour also had the support of the Portuguese Sailing Federation, the Tavira Nautical Club, the Lagos Sailing Club, the Portimão Marina Yacht Club and the Southern Regional Sailing Association.
The official sponsorships for each stage were provided by Salt&Sea Ria Formosa, NH Marina de Portimão Resort, Heineken and Adega de Favaios.
