Tornado destroys buildings in western Paraná.
The passage of a tornado on Friday afternoon (7) left destruction in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu , in the southwest of Paraná. Images from the city show houses with roofs torn off, damaged properties and power poles on the ground. Residents reported that the tornado arrived with a storm, strong wind and hail.
According to the head of the Regional Center of the State Civil Defense, preliminary information indicates that 60 people were injured and taken to hospitals in Laranjeiras do Sul.
A field hospital has been set up in the municipality to meet the demand. The official stated that there is suspicion of more victims under the rubble and that the teams are continuing the search.

According to Civil Defense, more than half of the municipality was affected, with roofs torn off and structural collapses in some buildings. Firefighters, municipal teams, and support agencies are working to provide assistance.
Governor Ratinho Junior announced in a statement that Civil Defense and security forces are mobilized and monitoring the cities affected by the storms.
"Civil Defense and our security forces are on alert, mobilized, and monitoring the cities affected by the severe storms. Our solidarity goes out to the entire population of the affected regions. We remain on high alert," they posted on social media.
According to Simepar, cities in the state recorded wind gusts exceeding 70 km/h. Civil Defense issued red alerts for six municipalities in Paraná due to high rainfall totals.
