Youth Day in Tavira celebrated with DJ Breyth and Camané

Youth Day in Tavira celebrated with DJ Breyth and Camané

As part of the «Summer in Tavira» programme, the stage in the Palácio da Galeria park will be the setting for two more musical events in August: DJ Breyth (12th) and Camané (13th).

As part of the Youth Day celebrations, DJ Breyth will perform on August 12th at 10 pm in the Palácio da Galeria park, with free entry, in an initiative by the Students' Association of Dr. Jorge Augusto Correia Secondary School with the support of the local authority.

This is already a well-established name in Afro House, which is taking the world by storm. Cledy Figueira was born in Angola, but it was in Lisbon that he adopted the name by which he is known.

It features support from artists such as Shimza, Major Lazer, Seth Troxler, Djeff, DJ Chuckie, and Gregor Salto. Tracks like Retroxpectiva, Bansuri, Indra, Tundavala, Supernova, and Alegria have already racked up a total of 24 million views on YouTube.

As DJ Breyth, he brings charisma and good energy to every performance, filling his sets with personal edits, unreleased tracks, and versions that can't be heard anywhere else.

He has worked in several countries, including the United States (New York), Qatar, Panama, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, England, the Netherlands and India (Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore).

He recently created his own record label, Arrifana Records, based in Lisbon, with the goal of creating a platform for new talented producers and artists, helping them reach a wider audience by promoting their music worldwide.

The first part of this concert is performed by DJ Van Gohen.

The following day, August 13th, at 10:00 p.m., the Palácio da Galeria park welcomes another musical genre. Camané sings José Mário Branco when presenting his work "Inquietação."

The fado singer pays tribute to José Mário Branco, in his own name, with a repertoire entirely exclusive to this singer-songwriter.

He sings a large part of the fados that José Mário Branco wrote for Camané, as he enters into the musical world of José Mário Branco, singing the most significant themes for him.

“This concert aims to be a fair and due tribute to a fundamental partner in the journey and formation of his career,” says Tavira City Council .

This musical moment will feature the usual guitar trio that accompanies Camané, but there will be other instrumentations and other musical cores outside the fado sound that will complement all these songs.

Tickets for this concert cost 12 euros and are on sale on the BOL platform, at participating establishments, and at the tourist information stand in Praça da República, between 8:00 pm and midnight.
