Government increases spending freeze by R$1.4 billion

The federal government announced on Monday, the 22nd, that the spending freeze will be increased by R$1.4 billion . So far this year, R$12.1 billion has already been included in spending cuts, according to data from the Bimonthly Revenue and Expenditure Assessment Report.
According to the document released by the Ministry of Planning and Budget, the projection for the central government's primary deficit this year, from 26.3 billion reais to 30.2 billion reais, equivalent to 0.24% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) — within the zero deficit target, which allows a tolerance of 0.25% of GDP.
The total deficit is 73.5 billion reais, but it is possible to remove 43.3 billion reais in expenses with court orders from the calculation .
The primary revenue estimate fell by R$200 million, to R$2.924 trillion, compared to the previous report. The net revenue estimate fell by R$1.9 billion, to R$2.344 trillion.
