Federal deputy Reimont (PT-RJ) announced on the evening of Wednesday 6 that he had contacted the Child Protective Services Council after pro-Bolsonaro deputy Julia Zanatta (PL-SC) took her four-month-old daughter to occupy the Chamber's plenary.
The Santa Catarina native is one of the lawmakers who attempted to obstruct the National Congress to force a vote on the Amnesty Bill and the opening of impeachment proceedings against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The Chamber session began nearly two hours late , at 10:21 p.m.
"Such conduct raises serious concerns about the safety of the child, who was exposed to an environment of instability, physical risk, and institutional tension , circumstances that contradict the provisions of the Child and Adolescent Statute," Reimont wrote in the letter sent to the Brasília Child Protection Council. The Workers' Party member is president of the Human Rights Commission.
Zanatta used social media to defend herself: “Those who are attacking my baby are not concerned about the child’s integrity (no abortionist ever was), they just want to make it impossible for a woman to practice her profession by using a child as a shield.”
