Ukraine: United Kingdom and United States hold meeting to discuss the evolution of the conflict

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and US Vice President JD Vance are holding a meeting of European and US national security advisers today to discuss the conflict in Ukraine.

The initiative was announced today by the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who considered that this meeting will be "a crucial opportunity to discuss the progress needed to achieve a just and lasting peace" in Ukraine.

The British Prime Minister had already spoken by telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, at a time when preparations were being made for a meeting between White House leader Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to discuss the suspension of fighting in Ukraine.
