Coimbra promotes regional gastronomy in a 3-day festival.

Coimbra promotes regional gastronomy in a 3-day festival.

The second edition of the Coimbra Gastronomic Region 2025 festival will once again bring together "the best chefs, producers, schools and brands in a meeting dedicated to the gastronomic identity of the region", at the São Francisco Convent, in Coimbra.

For three days, during the weekend of November 14-16, the region's largest gastronomy event will offer visitors live cooking demonstrations, workshops, and immersive experiences, aiming to establish the city "as a gastronomic destination of excellence," according to a statement from the organizers.

With free admission, the Coimbra Gastronomic Region 2025 presents a continuous program, with two stages, two food courts and new experiences led by renowned chefs and sommeliers, who will bring tradition and innovation together at the table.

Organized by the Cordel Maneirista restaurant and the companies Portugal Green Travel and Navega Vale, in co-authorship with the Coimbra City Council, the festival brings together 24 participating restaurants, which will create special menus, and more than 20 wine producers and local producers who will present tastings, pairings and local products.

In addition to the Makro (cloisters) and Praxis (air-conditioned dining room) stages and two food courts, the event also offers "At the Counter" experiences, with a capacity of 10 seats and the participation of a dedicated chef and sommelier.

In this edition, the schedule of showcookings , workshops , masterclasses , and entertainment throughout the weekend was also reinforced.

Among the new features, highlights include the Beverage Stage, Live Cooking, and pairing and mixology workshops, "with offerings designed for families, the public, and industry professionals," as well as a producers' market.

Between four thousand and six thousand visitors are expected at the event — which is aimed at tourism professionals, chefs, gastronomy students, and lovers of good food and wine.

The organization estimates that the event could generate a significant economic impact for the region, between 300,000 and 550,000 euros, "boosting producers, restaurants, commerce and accommodation."
