Macron: Fight against drug traffickers must respect states.

The President of France stated this Friday that the fight against drug traffickers must "respect the sovereignty of states," in a press conference in Mexico City with his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, alluding to attacks by American forces in the Caribbean.
“The fight against drug traffickers is a cause that unites us all,” said Emmanuel Macron, but “it is resolved through cooperation between sovereign states and respect for the sovereignty of each one,” he added, as the United States of America has been carrying out regular air strikes in the Pacific and especially in the Caribbean since the beginning of September against boats that allegedly belong to drug traffickers.
Emmanuel Macron concludes his official trip to Latin America this Friday with a visit to Mexico, where he arrived Thursday night from Brazil, to "deepen the political and economic ties" between France and that country, while the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, wants to ask the French president for the restitution of old works of art.
The French president was received this morning at the National Palace by his left-wing counterpart, who took office a year ago, during a solemn ceremony, journalists from the French news agency AFP observed at the scene.
In Mexico City, the French President intends to "deepen political and strategic ties" with the G20 member country with which, he told journalists at the Élysée Palace in France, "we share many values" regarding "respect for the rules that underpin the international order, respect for multilateralism."
"The visit also aims to deepen our economic ties with Mexico," he added.
