Blue Origin has successfully completed its 10th space tourist flight as part of the NS-30 mission, X reported on its social network. In total, this is the 30th flight carried out by the New Shepard reusable rocket with a passenger capsule.
Six tourists spent about 10-12 minutes in space. They experienced weightlessness and observed the Earth against the backdrop of space. The names of five tourists have never been hidden, nothing is known about the sixth except his last name - Wilson. It was noticed on the NS-30 mission patch, which was captured in a photograph.
The price of a ticket on the Blue Origin ship is not disclosed. The price of a flight for suborbital tourists on the Virgin Galactic competitor is $600,000 per seat.
Billionaire Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin rocket company launched its latest super-large rocket, New Glenn, in Florida on January 17. The rocket reached orbit on its maiden flight, successfully placing an experimental satellite thousands of miles above Earth. But the first stage of the booster was destroyed before it could reach its planned landing on a floating platform in the Atlantic.
The first test launch of Starship by the American company SpaceX, whose CEO is billionaire Elon Musk, took place in April 2023, but a few minutes after liftoff, the ship began to spin uncontrollably and was soon destroyed. The second test launch took place in November 2023, but after successfully separating the stages, the ship was destroyed before reaching orbital altitude.
