A diplomatic source in Ankara said that there is currently no certainty that the next round of negotiations on settling the conflict in Ukraine will take place in Turkey . His words are quoted by RIA Novosti .
The informant reported that behind-the-scenes negotiations are currently underway to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. However, there are no specifics at the moment. According to him, there is currently no clarity about the location of the new round of negotiations. He admitted that the dialogue may not take place in Turkey.
“ Istanbul is, of course, a convenient, proven, and established negotiating platform,” the source concluded.
On May 16, the first negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in three years took place in the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul. The Russian delegation was headed by the Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky , and the Ukrainian delegation was headed by the Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov .
