ANKARA, May 29 - RIA Novosti. A long-term ceasefire in Ukraine is a realistic solution, Turkey has shared a number of formulas with the parties, said Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Fidan was on a visit to Moscow on May 25-27, was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and held a number of talks with Russian officials. "We will now go and meet with the Ukrainians (Fidan will visit Kyiv on May 29-30 - ed.). If we compare the positions of the parties, a long-term ceasefire seems to be the most realistic of the possible solutions, if they manage to manage well. A permanent agreement requires comprehensive efforts. We have some formulas. We are sharing them with the parties," the Milliyet newspaper quotes Fidan as saying. According to him, Türkiye will continue shuttle diplomacy. "We are making sincere efforts to achieve peace. We are a country that can go to Russia and then to Ukraine in the same week. This is a very important sign of respect for our country and our president (Recep Tayyip Erdogan - ed.). We are trying to use this opportunity to establish peace in our region," the Turkish Foreign Minister noted. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously proposed that Ukraine resume direct talks without preconditions in Istanbul. According to the Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the goal of the proposed talks with Ukraine is to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and ensure Russia's interests. The Russian delegation arrived in Istanbul on May 15, but there were no contacts between representatives of the two countries. The meeting took place the next day and lasted almost two hours. Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the Russian delegation, said that Moscow and Kyiv agreed to present their vision of a possible future ceasefire. He also stated Russia's readiness to continue talks with Ukraine. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported on Wednesday, the next round of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will take place on June 2 in Turkey, where Russia will submit its memorandum to Ukraine.
