Novgorod calendar: Anatoly Mikhailovich MALYAKIN, people's teacher of Russia, celebrates his 80th birthday

There are no failures in his subject, 98% of graduates pass exams with "4" and "5", the average score of the Unified State Exam is 76%, and from year to year 1-3 graduates score from 96 to 100 points in chemistry. Anatoly Mikhailovich Malyakin teaches at Secondary School No. 26, a chemistry teacher of the highest qualification category, his teaching experience is almost 60 years.

At yesterday's ceremonial assembly in connection with the end of another academic year, he was among his colleagues - stately, fit, smart, and very positive. On his face - a kind smile, and his eyes with farewell sadness look towards the graduates. Over the years of teaching activity, more than five thousand of the same girls and boys entered adulthood, having learned his lessons, for many they determined the future choice of profession.

Surely, at such moments of the last bell, he remembers how, after finishing school, he himself decided to continue studying, received a degree in chemistry and biology at the university, and began to gain experience in teaching.

The young teacher began his chemistry lessons on September 1, 1966, at the secondary school in the city of Okulovka.

We contacted one of his first students. Here's what Svetlana YULILUOM (ANDREEVA) had to say:

"Happy birthday, dear Anatoly Mikhailovich! I am also your student from the distant 80s, Okulovka, and our school. I always remember you with warmth, although you taught the subject for only one quarter, but how interesting, entertaining, and exciting it was. You are a wonderful teacher who knows how to interest even the poor students. We ran to chemistry, we did not want to leave the lesson. It was magic, not a lesson, and this is the opinion of many of your students. Huge gratitude from all of us, health to you and long life!"

It so happened that Anatoly Mikhailovich then moved from Okulovka to Novgorod, and from September 1985 to the present day he has been working as a chemistry teacher at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 26 with in-depth study of chemistry and biology.

Another student of Anatoly Mikhailovich lives and works in Kirishi, Leningrad Region. She happily agreed to the invitation of the online newspaper Novgorod to say a word about her teacher.

Our entire class passed the Unified State Exam in chemistry in 2003 with very good scores, my result was 98 points out of 100. This ensured admission to higher education institutions. Many of Anatoly Mikhailovich's students have linked their lives with chemistry, working in the following industries - medicine, pharmacology, food industry technology, etc.

I easily entered the " Saint Petersburg State Chemical-Pharmaceutical Academy " (in 2018 it was renamed the Saint Petersburg State Chemical-Pharmaceutical University). During my studies, all disciplines related to chemistry (and there were many of them!) were easy - a solid foundation of knowledge was laid from school, thanks to the professionalism of the Teacher from God.

I live and work in the city of Kirishi, and I remember with gratitude the lessons of Anatoly Mikhailovich, which helped me in choosing a profession, and now in raising my children. Happy anniversary to you, Anatoly Mikhailovich!

Anatoly Mikhailovich's students regularly become prize winners and winners of city, regional, interregional, all-Russian and international Olympiads. Graduates of chemistry classes choose further specialties related to this subject and continue their education at Novgorod State University, as well as at Moscow universities, and having received a specialty, they work at chemical and food industry enterprises in their hometown.
