The experience of social partnership of the Novgorod region is recommended for scaling up to the whole country

A working meeting between the acting governor of the Novgorod region, Alexander Dronov, and the chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, Sergey Chernogaev, took place in Veliky Novgorod. The dialogue preceded the Interregional Forum on the Development of Social Partnership in the Northwestern Federal District, which was held in our city for the first time. It was attended by representatives of the regional government, employers, and trade unions.

The main topic of the bilateral meeting was the discussion of the Novgorod region’s experience in implementing social partnership.

The work of the regional tripartite commission for the regulation of social and labor relations was recognized as effective. The positive experience of interaction between the parties of the social partnership of the Novgorod Region was recommended to Deputy Chairman of the Government Tatyana Golikova for dissemination in the subjects of the Northwestern Federal District.

Sergey Chernogayev emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue between social partners to solve state problems and protect labor rights. He noted the high level of social partnership in the Novgorod Region and proposed to disseminate the successful experience of the region throughout the country.

" The Novgorod region is one of those regions where trade unions have their own legislative initiative, this is important. We see that your example inspired those who were at the forum. I hope that now they will implement this experience in their own countries ," noted Sergey Chernogaev.

Alexander Dronov thanked Sergei Chernogaev for his high assessment of the work of the regional tripartite commission and supported the proposal.

“We are ready to disseminate the best practices of social partnership, share experiences and learn further,” emphasized Alexander Dronov.

Let us recall that the Novgorod Regional Federation of Trade Unions has been actively developing social partnership since 2011. In 2013, on its initiative, the law "On social partnership in the sphere of labor in the Novgorod Region" was adopted. By the end of 2024, the region noted an increase in the total number of collective agreements with trade unions, an increase in the share of agreements with provisions on wage indexation, and a decrease in the share of agreements concluded with other employee representatives.
