Russia highly appreciates China's constructive position on the situation around Ukraine, based on an understanding of the root causes of the crisis, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said on Friday. "We highly appreciate China's constructive, balanced position on the situation around Ukraine, which is based on a deep understanding of the root causes of the crisis, and also takes into account the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety, totality and interrelation," Rudenko said at the tenth international conference "Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era." He noted that the global security initiative put forward in 2022 by Chinese President Xi Jinping provides for the settlement of any conflicts by eliminating the root causes of their occurrence, this applies to the situation around Ukraine.
