The head of the traffic police department warned the parents of young Novgorod motorcyclists

Not only the opening of the motorcycle season has brought more roar of two-wheeled transport into the street cacophony – summer also encourages Novgorod teenagers to get behind the wheel of a long-awaited moped or scooter. The safety of young motorcyclists is a separate problem, the solution to which must be addressed first and foremost by parents. They were addressed by the head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Novgorodsky" Yuri Zadnipryanets.

"Dear parents! Summer time is beginning. Many of you buy motorcycles, mopeds and scooters for your children, without taking into account whether your child knows the rules of the road or not, whether he or she is old enough to drive a vehicle.

Times are changing, the flow of traffic has increased significantly - on the roadway, a child can get confused, panic and act differently from what other road users who know the Rules expect from him. In addition, teenagers often mindlessly compete with each other in speed and "coolness". It is precisely such circumstances that most often lead to road accidents," explains Yuri Zadnipryanets.

The most alarming thing, he emphasizes, is that young motorbike owners are in no hurry to learn traffic rules. Parents often do not think about the safety of their children, simply not taking into account the age of the children and the need for a driver's license, as well as the skills to drive a vehicle.

"Many also overlook the use of helmets when riding mopeds. But it is worth remembering that even a minor accident can result in serious injuries to a child, or even the loss of their life! I would like to draw the attention of adults to the fact that they must control and prevent minors from getting behind the wheel! Dear parents, a scooter, moped, or ATV is dangerous entertainment! Save the lives and health of your children," the head of the district traffic police department urged.
