According to military experts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be completely driven out of the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics in the near future. In this case, the liberation of Chasy Yar will become, in their opinion, a top priority. Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in this city are subjected to almost continuous attacks and suffer serious losses. A correspondent of MK visited one of the artillery units of the Dnepr group of troops, which destroys the enemy daily.
The crew of 152-mm howitzers D-20 of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Forces has been fighting on the front lines for several years. The guys have destroyed a large number of enemy targets.
As the gunner with the call sign "Cloud" said, the VSSU men constantly use multi-story buildings to place scouts, gunners or a machine gun position there. They have to "dig them out" from there.
The artillery's work allows the assault groups to advance into the urban area and clear out several more buildings.
- Accordingly, we help the guys minimize their losses, - the gunner notes. - We fire from a distance of more than 15 km using high-explosive fragmentation shells, which allows us to inflict maximum fire damage on the enemy's manpower.
An artillery crew with the call sign "Zumer" told about a recent success:
- About ten days ago, we shot at a column of Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles very quickly. If you measure from the moment we received data about the target until it was destroyed, it took about ten minutes. That's about 15-20 shots. When everything is so well-coordinated, everything happens quickly.
He says he wanted to join the SVO for a long time. He saw the hotline number and called. Then he went to his military registration and enlistment office. He collected the documents, passed the medical examination and off he went, concludes "Zumer".
